Building a power house that connects Business and IT

Imagine a world where IT surprises are a distant memory. Where business decisions are seamlessly translated into technology solutions, and vice versa. Today, many challenges arise from misaligned business and IT decisions that can lead to missed opportunities, operational disruptions and frustration. To avoid this, it is important to understand all dependencies between business processes and IT execution to assess the associated effects across all company levels, departments and employees. In this session, we will show you how to recognize and understand the correlations with the help of our solutions, and how you can solve them with an agile approach.

The path to Swisscom Digital Architecture (SDA) with the help of LeanIX

From a Framework perspective, we consider 5 defined models (Product, Process, Data, IT-Architecture & Role) by Enterprise Architecture 2.0 at Swisscom. All of them are strongly aligned with Swisscom’s strategy and used to structure and steer the value chain of Swisscom. Based on a Group Executive Board decision we decided to invest in an EAM Tool (LeanIX) to help us to drive the transformation to the Swisscom Digital Architecture (SDA) and manage the enterprise architecture (inclusive the relations between the architecture elements) from a single place!

The LeanIX EAM tool builds the foundation to better understand and manage Swisscom architecture elements. It enables users to collaboratively manage the lifecycle of the elements, explore their dependencies, analyse their business and technical fit and make informed decisions about which elements to retire, replace, or invest in.

The main goal of this presentation is to explain how do we concretely execute the operationalization of LeanIX in the context of Swisscom.

How the LeanIX journey transformed doing architecture at EQUANS BeLux

Starting with the drivers to choose and implement LeanIX, we take you on the journey on how the architecture team used LeanIX to transform their way of working and was able to prepare for a carve-out and a migration of SAP environment to RISE platform. Along the way, they also used LeanIX as input to create the IT roadmaps for the different BUs. We will also touch upon how we use capability maps, started with focus on applications and interfaces, and have set up a ServiceNow integration.

Lactalis Transformation Framework – how Lactalis reshaped its IT transformation capability in a simple and effective way, relying on LeanIX

Lactalis' IS: 51 countries, as many IS if not more, it’s the beginning of our journey towards Harmonization. When we took on the problem, our enterprise architecture capabilities were modest. 8 months later, we feel a lot more comfortable with a proven ability to support IS Harmonization the industrialized way. This journey is a collective one, it’s driven by pragmatism and continuous improvement, it’s a core model approach instantiation triggered by several consideration (obsolescence, SAP S/4HANA, optimization, …).  It's a happy story that we look forward to sharing with you, the best practices we applied and the lessons we've learned from it.
